Purpose:
The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose
purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus
Christ: to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of
mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.
The Quiet Dell United Methodist Women are active in Mission Outreach in the
local area and in the wider community of state, country, and world. Their
support of mission work is combined with other UMW units to make a difference.
Meetings: The local unit meets monthly
for program, business meeting, and time of fellowship.
Membership is open to all women in the
church community, and women are encouraged to participate in all of some of the
activities offered by the group.
The local unit supports various mission projects in the local area such as
-
Heart and Hands House
-
Criss-Cross Christmas activity
-
Scott's Run Settlement House
-
Celebration of Mission Event
-
Quiet Dell Food Pantry
-
Quiet Dell Clothes Closet
Women also minister to the local community by supporting members with meals
during times of illness and by providing bereavement dinners.
There are opportunities for members to share with other women throughout the
state during the Spring Spiritual Growth retreat, Summer School of Christian
Missions, and Fall Annual Meeting.
Woman are encouraged to participate in the UMW Reading Program by reading
fiction and non-fiction Christian books. A wide variety of books are available
for women to pick up in the church office. Stop by some Sunday morning to browse
through the selections.
We invite you to join us as we grow in faith and serve others through
mission. Join us for our meetings--
